Grace Honigford wins Medalist honors to lead a dominating Women's Golf effort in a victory at Heidelberg Spring Invitational

HARROD — Freshman Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) won Medalist honors to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a 344-397 victory over Baldwin Wallace at the Heidelberg Spring Invitational on a windy Saturday afternoon at Mohawk Country Club.

The Polar Bears (20-3 overall) had 11 of the top 12 golfers in the tournament and defeated Baldwin Wallace 344-397.

Honigford was first out of 25 golfers with an 82 on the par-72, 5921-yard course to earn Medalist honors for the third time in eight tournaments this season.

Senior Annika Neumann (Valley City/Avon) and sophomore Bella Orofino (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) tied for second with 85s, senior Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) tied for fourth with an 88 and freshman Allison Rountree (Loveland) and sophomore Torrie Smith (Russiaville, Ind./Western) tied for sixth with 89s.

The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday and Sunday, April 17-18 in two Otterbein Invitational tournaments at Northstar Golf Course in Sunbury.
