Women's Basketball drops defensive battle at No. 8 Baldwin Wallace in OAC Tournament Semifinals

BEREA — The Ohio Northern women's basketball team fell 49-34 in a defensive battle at No. 8-ranked Baldwin Wallace in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals on Thursday evening.

The Game
- Sophomore Charlotte Pauling (Beavercreek) led the Polar Bears with 14 points, two steals and two blocks.
- Junior Gabi Croft (Spencerville) had a team-high eight rebounds and also had two blocks.
- Sophomore Emerson Gray (Liberty Center) also led the team with two steals and added eight points.
- Junior Lexee Brewer had a team-best two assists.
- The Yellow Jackets were led by Laura McCoy with nine points.
- Baldwin Wallace got out to a 7-0 lead and held ONU scoreless for the first 4:42 of the quarter.
- A 7-2 run from Northern cut the Yellow Jacket lead to two points with 2:26 left in the quarter.
- BW led 11-9 at the end of the first.
- Two free throws from Pauling to start the second quarter tied the game at 11.
- Ohio Northern held Baldwin Wallace to only free throws during the second quarter until they finally scored a layup with 3:47 left in the half.
- The Yellow Jackets then hit back-to-back 3-pointers to take a 22-15 lead with 1:07 left in the second quarter.
- BW led 24-19 at halftime.
- A three from Gray started scoring for the Polar Bears in the second half and cut BW's lead to four points.
- Baldwin Wallace led 35-33 after three quarters.
- The Yellow Jackets pulled away with back-to-back threes with 7:13 left in the game, giving them a 43-33 lead, their biggest of the night up until that point.
