Emerson Gray leads Women's Basketball in 68-55 loss at Manchester (Ind.)

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. — Sophomore Emerson Gray (Liberty Center) led the Ohio Northern women's basketball team in a 68-55 loss at Manchester (Ind.) on Wednesday evening.
The Basics

The Game
- Gray had a game-high 18 points, three assists and three steals to lead the Polar Bears.
- Sophomore Katelyn Stechschulte (Findlay) led Northern with 10 rebounds.
- Junior Gabi Croft (Spencerville) also had a team-high three steals.
- Manchester was led by Abigail Rosenkrans who also had a game-high 18 points.
- The Spartans started the game on a quick 5-0 run.
- ONU responded with a 7-0 run of their own, including a layup and 3-pointer from Gray.
- Manchester regained the lead, but a 3-pointer from junior Liv Mueller (Defiance/Tinora) gave the Polar Bears a 10-8 lead with 5:03 left in the first quarter.
- The Spartans led 22-15 after one quarter.
- Back-to-back threes from sophomore Logan Phillips (Troy/Miami East) and freshman Kennedy Morgan (Medina/Highland) cut Manchester's lead to six points with 1:31 left in the second quarter.
- The Spartans led 35-29 at halftime.
- Sophomore Charlotte Pauling (Beavercreek) started off the second half with an and-one to bring ONU within three points.
- Northern went on a 7-0 run in the third quarter to cut Manchester's lead to three points once again, making the score 42-39 with 4:46 left in the quarter.
- The Spartans had a 53-46 win after three quarters.
- Ohio Northern made 18-of-52 field goals for 34.6 percent and was 4-of-17 from beyond the arc for 23.5 percent, while Manchester was 19-of-51 from the floor for 37.3 percent and finished 4-of-16 on 3-pointers for 25.0 percent.
- The Polar Bears made 15-of-19 free throws for 78.9 percent and the Spartans were 26-of-34 from the line for 76.4 percent.
