Serbin repeats as OAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year; Allen Second Team selection on All-OAC squad; Huelsman named Coach of the Year

ADA — Fifth-year senior All-American Brynn Serbin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year and junior Brooke Allen (Woodville/Woodmore) was named Second Team All-OAC for 2023-24 in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.
Fourth-year head coach Mark Huelsman was named the OAC Women's Basketball Coach of the Year.
Serbin repeated as OAC Player of the Year after receiving the honor as a senior in 2022-23.
She is now a five-time All-OAC selection, earning Second Team honors as a junior and Honorable Mention kudos her freshman and sophomore seasons.
This season, she leads the team and is third in the OAC in scoring at 15.0 ppg. Serbin also leads the OAC in assists (102) and steals (75).
Serbin is ONU's all-time leader in career steals with 298 and assists with 397.
She ranks second on ONU's all-time career scoring list with 1,317 points. She ranks third all-time with 187 made 3-pointers in her career, is 10th all-time in made free throws with 226, is 12th all-time in rebounds with 583 and fourth all-time with 452 made field goals.
Serbin is the only women's basketball player in ONU history to tally at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals in her career.
Allen is a two-year starter in the post and is now a two-time Second Team All-Conference honoree.
She is averaging 9.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game this season after averaging 11.09 ppg and 5.5 rpg a year ago.
Allen will enter her senior season with 707 points, 385 rebounds and 39 blocked shots.
Huelsman has guided the Polar Bears to back-to-back OAC Tournament titles and NCAA III Tournament appearances.
He is 67-30 overall and is 43-25 in OAC action during his tenure at ONU.
The Polar Bears are 18-9 overall, finished third in the OAC with a 13-5 record and won the OAC Tournament this season.
ONU qualified for the NCAA III Tournament and will face Marymount (Va.) in the First Round on Friday at Scranton, Pa.
