Saturday's Preview: The Polar Bears are playing their final road game of the regular season on Saturday taking on Ohio Athletic Conference foe John Carroll at 2 p.m. as part of a women's-men's doubleheader … In the teams' first meeting this season, JCU got a 54-49 road win on Jan. 8 … The Polar Bears outscored the Blue Streaks 17-7 in the second quarter and led by as many as eight points in the third quarter before JCU made a late comeback … Senior Jaidyn Hale was 3-for-4 from 3-point range and finished with 19 points, and sophomore Kasey Knippen was 3-for-5 from beyond the arc for her nine points in the game … Northern is coming off Wednesday's 64-58 overtime loss at home to No. 10 Baldwin Wallace … ONU used a 7-0 run to take a 53-51 lead with 45 seconds left, but BWU answered with a pair of free throws to send the game to overtime and scored the first five points of the extra period en route to the win … ONU junior Brynn Serbin tallied her second double-double of the season, finishing with a career-high 19 points and tying a career-high with 10 rebounds … Hale added 11 points … Northern is averaging 61.8 points per game and allowing an OAC-low 49.2 points per contest … The Polar Bears are shooting 38.5% from the field, 29.2% on 3-pointers and 70.4% from the foul line … Senior Alissa Stahler (9.3 points per game) leads ONU in scoring followed by Serbin (8.7), Hale (8.0) and sophomore Kristen Luersman (7.4) … Stahler's team-high 5.7 rebounds per game ranks ninth in the OAC, and her 20 total blocks are tied for fifth in the conference … Serbin leads the OAC in steals (52) and is tied for the league lead in assists (66) … Serbin's 126 career steals ties her with Angie Zinser ('99-'01) for 12th on the program's all-time leaderboard, and her 151 career assists are 22 shy of cracking the top 20 on the program's all-time leaderboard in that category … Knippen leads the OAC in shooting 47.6% (20-of-42) from 3-point range … Following Saturday's game, ONU closes out the regular season with home games against OAC foes Heidelberg (Feb. 16, 7 p.m.) and Muskingum (Feb. 19, 2 p.m.) … John Carroll enters Saturday's game ranked No. 8 nationally in this week's D3hoops.com poll … JCU is coming off Wednesday's 57-52 home loss to Otterbein that ended a 10-game win streak that dated back to Dec. 21 … Olivia Nagy led the Blue Streaks, finishing with 16 points, 16 rebounds and nine blocks, coming up just short of her third career triple-double … Nagy posted 13 points, 17 rebounds and six blocks in JCU's win over ONU earlier this season … John Carroll is averaging an OAC-high 74.9 points per game while allowing 59.6 points per contest … The Blue Streaks are shooting 44.6% from the floor, 28.7% on 3-pointers and 72.9% from the foul line … JCU leads the OAC in field goal and free throw percentage … Nagy (15.6 points per game) and Nicole Heffington (14.7) lead JCU in scoring, which ranks second and third, respectively, in the OAC … Nagy, the 2020 OAC Player of the Year and 2021 OAC Tournament MVP, is a three-time OAC Defensive Player of the Year, two-time First Team All-OAC and two-time WBCA Honorable Mention All-American selection … Nagy leads the OAC in rebounding (12.5 per game) and blocks (77), and her block total is 45 more than second place on the list … Heffington and Abby Adler are tied for fourth in the OAC in assists (61) … Hannah Bouchy is tied for sixth in the OAC in steals (32) … Heffington has made a team-high 21 3-pointers on 31.8% shooting from beyond the arc.
