ALLIANCE — Seniors Alissa Stahler (Lima/Shawnee) and Lexi Jacobs (Wapakoneta) each scored 14 points to lead the Ohio Northern women's basketball team to a 66-54 victory at Mount Union on Saturday afternoon at the MAAC.
The Polar Bears improve to 13-4 overall and are 7-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Purple Raiders fall to 6-10, 3-7.
Senior Jaidyn Hale (Lima/Bath) added 10 points for ONU.
MtU was led by Emma Cannon with 12 points.
Northern used a 15-2 run late in the third period to turn a 40-35 lead into a 55-37 advantage with 56 seconds left in the quarter.
Ohio Northern made 24-of-55 field goals for 43.6% and was 6-of-16 from 3-point range for 37.5%, while the Purple Raiders made 17-of-55 field goals for 30.9% and were 8-of-30 from beyond the arc for 26.7%.
UMU out-rebounded ONU by a 38-33 margin.
The Polar Bears will return to action Wednesday night with a road game at Otterbein.
