Women's Basketball to host John Carroll in OAC Tournament Semifinals
ADA — The Ohio Northern women's basketball team will host one of two Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal games, Thursday night at the ONU Sports Center.
Third-seeded Polar Bears will face the seventh-seeded John Carroll.
The Blue Streaks upset No. 2 seed Baldwin-Wallace Tuesday night in Berea to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 1994.
Northern won both regular season matchups against John Carroll, taking a 69-44 win at University Heights in December and an 89-79 win at home in January.
Junior Steph Hicks earned a double-double with game-leading totals of 19 points and 13 rebounds the first time these two teams met.
Senior Jeanne Bockey put down 24 points to lead the Polar Bears the second time around against JCU.
An ONU win will advance the team to the finals to face the winner between fifth-seeded Capital and top-seeded Mount Union, a game also being played Thursday night.
Thursday night's game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and $2 for non-OAC students. Current OAC students will be admitted for free with a valid student ID.
