ADA — The Ohio Northern softball team swept a doubleheader against Muskingum on Friday afternoon at Durbin-Hileman Stadium. ONU took the first game 2-1 and came back from a 5-1 deficit to win the second game 7-6 in walk-off fashion.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (9-15 Overall, 4-2 OAC), Muskingum (8-10 Overall, 4-2 OAC).
- Venue: Durbin-Hileman Stadium — Ada, Ohio.
Game 1 - W, 2-1
- In the bottom of the second inning, sophomore Carlie Schroeder (Wapakoneta) hit a sacrifice fly to score senior Ashley Lenser (Brookville).
- Muskingum scored their lone run in the top of the fourth inning.
- Lenser hit an RBI single up the middle to score senior Mariana Alejandro (Gibsonburg) in the bottom of the sixth inning to go up 2-1.
- Lenser went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Polar Bears.
- Lenser also pitched a complete game with four strikeouts to get the win in the circle.
- MU out-hit ONU 4-3.
Game 2 - W, 7-6
- Muskingum scored three runs in the top of the second inning to take a quick 3-0 lead.
- Senior Callie Rosser (Republic/Monroeville) hit an RBI single in the third inning to make the score 3-1.
- The Muskies scored two more runs in the fourth inning.
- In the bottom of the fourth inning, senior Taylor Hilty (Kettering/Fairmont) and junior Allie Wilson (Wapakoneta) each hit RBI singles, making the score 5-3.
- MU scored one run in the top of the seventh inning.
- Northern rallied to score four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
- Rosser hit a walk-off single to seal the win, her second walk-off of the season.
- Wilson went 4-for-4 with an RBI and two runs to lead the Polar Bears offensively.
- Lenser (6-8) pitched the last 3.1 innings and had three strikeouts to get another win in the circle.
- ONU out-hit MU 15-11.

- Ohio Northern is now 60-77 all-time against Muskingum.
