Sophomore Allie Bican named OAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

ADA — Sophomore Allie Bican (Solon) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 3-9.

Bican went 2-0 and did not allow an earned run in 16.0 innings of work in a pair of victories last week.

She threw a 6-hit shutout as ONU won the opener of a 4-game series with Otterbein 1-0, then had a 10-strikeout complete game performance in a 4-3 victory in Game 4.

This season, Bican is 4-7 with a team-best 95 strikeouts and a 3.42 ERA in the circle.

The Polar Bears (20-17-1) are the No. 4 seed in this week's OAC Tournament and will host fifth-seeded Capital in the Quarterfinals on Wednesday at the ONU Softball Field.
