Junior C.J. Boothby qualifies for Men's NCAA III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Javelin

ADA — Junior C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) has qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the javelin throw.
He will compete in the prelims and finals on Saturday at 11 am (CDT). The top nine in the prelims will advance to the finals immediately following the prelims on Saturday.
Boothby is seeded 13th in the 22-man field in the event school record throw of 62.43 meters.
This marks his third NCAA III Championships appearance and his first outdoors.
This season, he was 14th indoors in the 60-meters in 6.84 seconds. He was also 10th in the 60 in 6.79 seconds an d 17th in the long jump at 6.89 meters at the 2025 Indoor Championships.
Boothby has now qualified for the NCAA Championships in three different events.
He owns six school records - outdoors in the 100 at :10.42, the javelin at 62.43m and the 4x100 relay in :40.52; and indoors in the 60 (:06.75), the long jump (7.35m) and the heptathlon (4,161 points).
The top 22 individuals and the top 16 relay teams in each event qualify for the NCAA Championships.
The top eight finishers in each event earn All-America honors.
