Men's Indoor Track and Field competes at Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet on Friday

ALLENDALE, Mich. — The Men's Indoor Track & Field Team competed at the Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet on Friday, with many individuals putting forth great efforts amongst 93 teams.
The Basics
- The meet did not include team scoring.
- Record: Ohio Northern (22-4 Overall).
- The team is a split-squad this weekend as they will also compete Saturday at the All-Ohio Championships.
- This event took place on a widespread scale; teams involved include NCAA Division I schools, Division II schools, Division III schools, and NAIA schools.
- Venue: Kelly Family Sports Center - Allendale, Mich.
Top ONU Performers
- Junior C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) finished 2nd in the long jump with a leap of 7.07 meters.
- Sophomore Dudley Bravard (Beavercreek) took 4th in his heat of the 5000-meter run with a personal best 15:27.33.
- Senior Jacob Clouse (Alvada/New Riegel) took 8th in his heat of the 5000 in 15:06.14.
- Freshman Carson Brown (Botkins) finished 9th in his heat of the 5000, in 15:47.58.
- Sophomore Brycen Lantz (Attica/Seneca East) came in 12th in his heat of the 50000 run in15:48.74.
- Junior Oliver Hendricks (Vandalia/Butler) finished 17th in the 5000, in 15:32.05.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 40 men's events with 11 field events, 28 running events, and 1 relay.
- Boothby's jump of 7.07 meters is good not only for a season-best, but also for the 27th best in DIII this season.
- Clouse's time of 15:06.14 in the 5000 places him at 7th all-time in ONU history.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 17th year at Ohio Northern and is 723-169 in men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .809. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
