Seven Polar Bears to compete at 2024 NCAA III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships

ADA — Seven Ohio Northern men have qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Junior All-American Jordan Dean (Cleveland/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) will compete in three events to lead the list of Polar Bears heading to the championships.
Dean will be the No. 3 seed in the 400-meter dash, where he qualified with a school record :46.47. He is a returning All-American in the event, finishing eighth a year ago.
He will also join fifth-year senior Hunter Kesler (Oakwood/Paulding), sophomore Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) and freshman C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) as the No. 6 seed in the 4x100 relay after running a school-record :40.52.
Dean, Kesler, senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) and junior Ross Schlatter (Curtice/Genoa) are competing as the No. 10 seed nationally in the 4x400 relay with a school-record time of 3:12.41.
Senior Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) owns the fifth-best mark nationally in the shot put at 17.43, which is just .03 off his own school record of 17.46 meters set last year. He is a three-time All-American in the event and earned All-American honors in the indoor shot put earlier this year.
For each individual event contested, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
The 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 23-25 at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The 4x100 relay prelims are scheduled for Thursday at 5:25 pm, with the 4x400 relay prelims following at 8:15 pm.
The shot put will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday with the 400 prelims following at 5:15 pm.
On Saturday, the finals of the 4x100 will be at 4:15 pm, the finals of the 400 will be at 5:20 pm and the finals of the 4x400 relay will be the last event of the championships at 8 pm.
The top eight finishers in the prelims will advance to the finals and the top eight finishers in each event earn All-America honors.
