ADA — Ohio Northern seniors Nate Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph) and Sam Krabacher (Hamilton/Badin), junior Hunter Kesler (Oakwood/Paulding), sophomores Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) and Tommy Vetrovsky (Macedonia/Nordonia) and freshman Jordan Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph) were named All-Great Lakes Region in men's indoor track and field for 2022 by the USTFCCCA.
To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top five individuals in their respective region on the final TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region's top three relay teams was also selected for distinction.
Jordan Dean earned three All-Region honors, doing so in the 200 meters, 400 meters and 4x400 relay. His top times in the 200 and 400 rank third and fifth, respectively, all-time at ONU. He is a 2022 All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer in the 200, 400 and 4x200 relay.
Nate Dean, Kesler and Krabacher joined Jordan Dean on the All-Region 4x400 relay team.
Nate Dean was also All-Region in the 200 meters, giving him five indoor All-Region honors in his career. He earned the distinction in the 200 in 2020 and 2021 and did so in the 60-meter dash in 2021. The two-time NCAA Championships qualifier and 2020 USTFCCCA All-American in the 200 meters has eight indoor All-OAC accolades to his name after adding two this season in the 60 and 4x200 relay. He holds the school records in both the 60 (:06.94) and 200 (:22.07) and ranks third all-time in the 400.
Kesler was also All-Region in both the 4x400 relay and the 200. Kesler earned All-OAC honors in the 200 and 4x200 relay this season, giving him three indoor All-Conference accolades in his career. His career-best times in the 200 and 400 rank second and 10th, respectively, all-time at ONU.
Krabacher rounds out the All-Region honorees on the 4x400 relay team. This marks the second All-Region honor of his career, as he earned the accolade in the indoor 800 meters in 2021. The seven-time indoor All-OAC performer earned All-Conference honors with a second-place finish in the 800 this season as the defending champion in the event.
Digby earned All-Region honors in the shot put for the second straight season after throwing a career-best distance of 15.64 meters at the Wittenberg Invitational. That mark ranks second-best in program history. He closed out his indoor season by winning the OAC championship in the shot put with a distance of 15.48 meters.
Vetrovsky earned All-Region accolades in the weight throw, marking the first such honor of his career. After placing 11th in the weight throw at the 2021 OAC Championships, he placed sixth this season. He followed that up by throwing a distance of 17.20 meters at the Polar Bear Final Qualifier. That mark ranks third all-time at ONU.
The Polar Bears finished third at the 2022 OAC Indoor Championships and will open their outdoor season on March 26 at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational.
