Men's Track & Field compete at the Northwest Ohio Invitational at Findlay
FINDLAY — The Ohio Northern men's track and field team had a good showing at the Northwest Ohio Invitational, an unscored indoor event hosted by the University of Findlay, Friday evening.
The Polar Bears competed against several area institutions in the second meet of the indoor season, including OAC foe Heidelberg.
Sophomore Ben Ankrom had a first-place finish in the 800-meter run, posting a time of 1:58.23.
Ankrom joined junior Cory Bailey, and freshmen Richard Patterson and Evan McKee to place second in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:33.20.
Bailey also finished second in the 800-meter run in 1:58, while also finishing second were junior Dan Smith in the 3,000-meter run in 8:56 and freshman Brett Bomba in the triple jump with a distance of 40-10.5.
Ohio Northern's other second place finishers included seniors Ryan Fleming in the 60-meter dash (1:08.02) and Shane Huntley in the 500-meter dash (7.08).
Notching third place finishes for the Polar Bears were senior Garrett Brown in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:08 and freshmanThomas Steinberger in the triple jump with a length of 39-10.
Ohio Northern will return to action next Saturday in the OAC Relays at Capital. The meet begins at 11 a.m.
