Junior Tyler Wood named OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ADA — Junior Tyler Wood (Toledo/St. John's) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Apr. 6-12.

He won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2 singles in a 7-0 shutout of Mount Union on Saturday, then won 6-0 at No. 2 doubles in a 7-0 shutout of Wittenberg on Sunday.

This is Wood's third OAC Player of the Week honor and first this season.

Wood has a team-best 14 doubles wins this season. He is 97-62 in his career and needs just three more victories to become the 25th member of ONU's 100-Win Club.

The Polar Bears (9-8 Overall, 1-0 OAC) will return to action on Saturday against Otterbein at 11 a.m.
