Men's Tennis advances to finals of OAC Tournament with a 5-1 victory over Baldwin Wallace

CINCINNATI — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team advanced to the finals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament with a 5-1 semifinal victory over Baldwin Wallace on Friday afternoon indoors at the Queen City Racquet Club.
The top-seeded Polar Bears improve to 21-4 overall, while the fifth-seeded Yellow Jackets end their season at 12-7.
With the win, ONU ran its winning streak to eight matches and will be making its second finals appearance in the last three tournaments.
Ohio Northern will face second-seeded John Carroll in the finals after th Bue Streaks rallied to defeat third-seeded Otterbein 5-3 in the other semifinal match.
Northern took two of the three doubles matches, then swept Nos. 4-5-6 singles to advance.
Senior Zach Beaschler (Ada) and sophomore Drew Swisher (Findlay) started the match by winning 8-0 at No. 3 doubles and senior Andrew Cochran (Wooster) and freshman Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles to give ONU a 2-0 lead.
Specht made it 3-1 with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles and freshman Sam Sran (PB, India/St. Stephens and Gian Jyoti Global) won 6-0, 6-2 to give ONU a 4-1 lead.
Freshman Tristan Munteanu (Draper, Utah/Corner Canyon) clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.
