Senior Vinh Thai named OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Vinh Thai (Galloway/Saint Charles) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 14-20.

Thai went 4-0 on the week, leading the Polar Bears to road victories at Bethel (Ind.) and Rose-Hulman (Ind.)

He was 2-0 at No. 2 singles and combined to go 2-0 at No. 1 doubles with junior Matt Garcia (Downers Grove, Ill./South).

Thai is a three-time First Team All-OAC honoree and was named the 2019 OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year.

This season, Thai is 10-4 in singles and 8-7 in doubles for an overall record of 18-11.

In five seasons at ONU, Thai is 48-28 in singles and is 47-34 in doubles. His overall record of 95-62 leaves him just five victories away from becoming the 23rd member of ONU's 100-Win Club.

The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday with a tri-match at Denison with OAC foe Marietta.
