MASON - Senior Sam Prewitt went 2-0 as the Ohio Norhtern men's tennis team swept Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Marietta 9-0 Sunday morning at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 6-7 overall and 3-2 OAC, while Marietta falls to 2-11, 0-5.

Norhtern opened the day with a sweep of doubles play before claiming all six matches in single play.

Prewitt and junior John Mostowy teamed up to win No. 1 doubles, sophomore Alex Starr and junior Andy Starr claimed No. 2 doubles, while senior Alex Altman and sophomore Gary Hess claimed No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Mostowy claimed No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0, Prewitt won No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-1, Alex Starr won No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-1, Altman won No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-3, Hess won No. 5 singles 6-1, 7-5, and sophomore Alex Genbauffe won No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-1.

The Polar Bears are next in action Wednesday as they travel to Berea to take on Baldwin Wallace.
