Clark wins 100 breast, helps on school record in 200 medley relay team to lead Men's Swimming and Diving on third day of OAC Championships

AKRON — Senior Nathan Clark (Cleves/Elder) won the 100 breast title and Ohio Northern set a school record in the 200 medley relay to lead the men's swimming and diving team on the third day at the 2026 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Friday.
The Basics
- Record: Ohio Northern (8-0 overall, 4-0 OAC).
- Ohio Northern is first of five teams with 617 points after 13 of 20 events.
- Mount Union is second the team standings with 598 points, Wilmington is third with 331 points, Baldwin Wallace is fourth with 205 points and Heidelberg is fifth with 118 points.

Meet Highlights
- Clark won the 100 breast in :55.87.
- ONU had five of the top six finishers in the event, which also included sophomore Austin Peace (Eaton), who earned All-OAC honors with a third place finish in :53.37.
- Senior Aiden Magoolaghan (Hinckley/Highland), Clark, sophomore Chase McCluskey (Pickerington/North), and senior Selby Wilt (Findlay) opened the evening by finishing second in the 200-yard medley relay in a school record 1:30.99.
- Peace was also third in the 100 fly in :50.98 to earn All-OAC kudos for the second time of the day.
- McCluskey was second in the 200 free in a career-best 1:41.27.
- Freshman Liam Donovan (Dublin/Coffman) and senior Long Huynh (Billings, Mt./West) finished 2-3 in the 400 I.M. to earn All-OAC accolades.
- Donovan was second in 4:11.51 and Huynh was third in 4:12.86.
- Senior Max Etheridge (Ashley/Hayes) and freshman Braedon McMillen (Westlake) earned All-Conference honors in the 1-meter diving.
- Etheridge was second with 306.60 points and McMillen was third with 299.25 points.
Notables
- The meet will consist of 20 events over four days, including 13 individual races, two diving events and five relays.
- Clark is the ninth ONU man to win the 100 breast crown and the first since 2013.
- The 200 medley relay time of 1:30.99 was .06 of a second faster that the previous mark of 1:31.05 set in 2013.
- McCluskey is now #3 all-time in the 200 free with his 1:41.27.
- Donovan is now ranked seventh all-time in ONU history in the 400 I.M. at 4:12.98 and Huynh is now ninth at 4:12.28.
- Freshman Owen Weiss (Strongsville) was fourth in the 400 I.M. in 4:12.36, which makes him the 10th-fastest in school history in the event.
- The top three individuals and the top two relay teams in each event earn All-Conference honors.
- Northern's 8-0 regular season record is the best in program history.
- Austin Veltman is 44-20 in his seventh season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
