Men's Swimming and Diving improves to 7-0 with a 181-118 win over NCAA Division II Ashland

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team improved to 7-0 on the season with a 181-118 victory over NCAA Division II Ashland on Saturday afternoon.

- Junior Nathan Herbert (Medina/Highland) won the Polar Bears' first event of the day placing first in the 1000-yard free in 10:16.07. He also won the 500 free in 4:54.65.
- Senior Nathan Clark (Cleves/Elder) won the 100 fly in :52.39 and the 100 yard breast in :58.68.
- Senior Long Huynh (Billings, Mt./West) won the 200 fly in 1:59.18.
- Senior Selby Wilt (Findlay) won the 50 free in :21.32.
- Senior Simon Bopple (Cleveland/Shaker Heights) won the 200 back in 2:03.61.
- Freshman Liam Donovan (Dublin/Coffman) won the 200 breast in 2:14.94.
- Senior Tyler Edmonds (Youngsville, La./Southside) won the 200 IM in 2:03.03.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 16 events, including 12 individual races, two diving events and two relays.
- The Polar Bears won 9 of the 12 individual events.
- This meet was ONU's latest home opener in the modern era of Polar Bear swimming and diving, dating to the 1990 season.
- Northern's 7-0 start is the best in program history.
- Austin Veltman is 43-20 in his seventh season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
