Sophomore Carson Zurmehly named OAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for seventh time this season

ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Carson Zurmehly (Batavia/McNicholas) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 27-Nov. 2.
This marks his 8th career OAC Player of the Week accolade and 7th this season.
The latest recognition comes after recording two saves in a 1-0 shutout win over Wilmington on Wednesday to claim the OAC Regular Season title and clinch the No. 1 seed in the OAC Tournament. The team also posted their first undefeated regular season in program history with the win.
Zurmehly leads the OAC in shutouts (9), GAA (.710) and save percentage (.793).
In 24 career games in goal, he now has 65 saves and 10 shutouts. He ranks tied for 8th all-time at ONU with 10 career shutouts and tied for 9th in single-season shutouts with 9 this season.
The Polar Bears (11-0-6 Overall) return to action on Thursday when they host the OAC Tournament Semifinals at Kerscher Stadium.
