ADA — Ohio Northern junior Lucas Hickey (Conroe, Tex./Oak Ridge) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Midstream Lighting, for the week of Sept. 25 to Oct. 1.
This marks the first career OAC Player of the Week accolade for Hickey, who was an All-OAC Second Team selection last season.
The recognition comes after he played all 90 minutes and earned the win in goal in ONU's 2-1 win over No. 9 Mount Union on Saturday in what was the Polar Bears' lone game of the week.
The one goal he allowed in the game came via a penalty kick.
Hickey has played the entirety of all 10 of ONU's games thus far and has a 1.20 GAA with 20 saves, a .625 save percentage and two shutouts. He ranks fourth in the OAC in GAA.
The Polar Bears (5-4-1 overall, 1-0-0 OAC) return to action on Wednesday hosting OAC foe Otterbein at 7 p.m.
