King headlines list of three Polar Bears to earn Men’s Soccer All-Ohio honors

ADA — Three student-athletes represented the Ohio Northern men's soccer team on the annual Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio teams for the 2022 season.
Fifth-year senior midfielder Levi King (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) was named to the All-Ohio First Team and Academic All-Ohio First Team.
Fifth-year senior forward Bryan Kern (Rocky River) was an All-Ohio Second Team selection, and junior midfielder Cade Winchester (Knoxville, Tenn./Alcoa) was named to the Academic All-Ohio Second Team.
The latest accolades for King come after he earned All-Region VII First Team recognition from United Soccer Coaches after being named to the All-OAC First Team as the conference's Midfielder of the Year for the second straight season. He was also named to the OAC All-Tournament Team and was selected as the OAC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 17.
King recorded at least one point in all nine of ONU's conference games this season and finished with 22 points on seven goals and eight assists. Those totals ranked tied for fourth, tied for sixth and tied for second, respectively, in the OAC. King has started 94 of his 95 career games at ONU and ranks sixth all-time in points (107) and assists (29) and seventh in goals (39).
He boasts a 3.51 GPA as a pharmacy major.
Kern was an All-OAC First Team pick after ranking second on the team with 20 points. He tied King for the team lead with seven goals and added six assists and was also an OAC All-Tournament Team selection. Kern has played in 82 games with 57 starts in his ONU career and has 47 points on 17 goals and 13 assists.
Winchester finished with 10 points, recording four goals and two assists, and was an Academic All-Ohio selection.
A sports management major, Winchester boasts a 3.70 GPA.
The Polar Bears finished the 2022 season 13-4-5 overall and won the OAC regular season championship with an 8-0-1 mark in conference play. They earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the third round before falling to Williams (Mass.).
