Senior Cole Zaferakis named OAC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior goalkeeper Cole Zaferakis (Liverpool, N.Y.) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the week of March 20-26.
This is Zaferakis' second OAC Player of the Week accolade of the season and fifth of his career.
The latest recognition comes after he tallied five saves and allowed just one goal in his 41:45 of playing time in ONU's 18-7 win at Mount Union on Saturday to improve to 6-2 on the season.
Through eight games this season, Zaferakis has 70 saves and a 7.96 GAA. His GAA ranks second in the OAC.
Named to the InsideLacrosse.com All-Freshman Team in 2020, Zaferakis owns the program's single-game record for saves with 19.
Zaferakis is ONU's all-time leader in career saves (369) and ranks second in program history in goalkeeper wins (30). He has a career GAA of 8.64.
The Polar Bears (6-2 overall, 1-0 OAC) return to action on Wednesday at Heidelberg at 4 p.m.
