Men's Golf wins 4-team Joe Campoli Memorial Tournament

HARROD — The Ohio Northern men's golf team won the Joe Campoli Memorial Tournament on a beautiful Monday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished first of four teams with a 301.
- Baldwin Wallace was second with a 306, Heidelberg was third with a 316 and Bluffton was fourth with a 323.
- ONU Season Record: 6-0.
- Venue: Colonial G.C. - Harrod, Ohio.
ONU Individuals
- Freshman Zach Butcher (Medina/Highland) was third of 60 golfers with a even par 72 on the 6886-yard course.
- Sophomore Ian Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) tied for fourth with a 73.
- Freshman Sam Cramer (Plain City/Alder) tied for ninth with a 77.
- Senior Evan Dennison (Ashland/Mapleton) tied for 16th with a 79.
- Freshman Nick Miller (Toledo/Saint Francis) tied for 21st with an 80.
- In all, 29 Polar Bear golfers competed in the tournament with 11 of them recoding scores in the 70s.
Notables
- This is the second consecutive victory for ONU this season.
- Junior Aashir Patel (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant) leads the team in scoring after this weekend with a 70.0 average.
- Butcher is second at 71.5, Briars is third at 72.5 and Cramer is fourth at 75.0.
- in all, there are 17 ONU golfers averaging in the 70s after the first weekend of competition.
- ONU head coach Chad Bucci is 433-403-16 in his 13th season at the helm of the men's program, a winning percentage of .518.
