Men's Golf in third place after rain-shortened day two of 2025 OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE — The Ohio Northern men's golf team is in third place after a rain-shortened second day of the 2025 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday.
The Basics
- Play was suspended in the early afternoon as players were finishing round two and beginning round three.
- Teams will finish round two, then play round three on Sunday as the tournament has been shortened to 54 holes.
- Ohio Northern is third of nine teams near the end of the second round at 23-over par.
- John Carroll is in first place at 13-over par, Otterbein is second at 14-over par and Capital is fourth at 33-over par.
- The teams will conclude their second rounds and then play a complete third round on Sunday to wrap up the event.

- Freshman Ian Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) is tied for second out of 45 golfers with a 1-over par 72-72—144.
- Junior Bennett Christy (Plymouth, Ind.) is tied for fourth with a 2-over par 72-73—145.
- Junior Joey DeSimone (Monroe Falls/Stow-Monroe Falls) is 19th with a 9-over par 74-78—152.
- Senior Andrew Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) is tied for 24th with an 11-over par 77-68—145 through 34 holes.
- Freshman Dylan Potts (Dublin/Jerome) is 34th with a 15-over par 77-77—154 through 35 holes.
Notables
- Entering the OAC Tournament, Ian Briars leads the Polar Bears in scoring with a 76.3 average for 20 rounds.
- Andrew Briars is second at 77.76 for 17 rounds, while DeSimone and Christy are tied for third at 77.84 for 19 rounds.
- ONU head coach Chad Bucci is 427-411-16 in his 12th season at the helm of the men's program, a winning percentage of .509.
