Freshman Josh Steyer named OAC Golfer of the Week

ADA — Freshman Josh Steyer (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) earned Ohio Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week accolades after shooting 4-over par in his first collegiate tournament at the Ohio Cup on Saturday.

Steyer shot a 76-72—148 to lead the Polar Bears to a sixth place finish, defeating both of the other Division III schools in the tournament.

He placed tied for 14th of 87 golfers.

Steyer's round of 72 is the best for an ONU freshman since Tyler Davis shot a 70 in 2013.

The Polar Bears return to the course on Saturday and Sunday at the Otterbein Match Play Tournament.
