Men's Golf finishes 10th of 12 at Ohio Cup

FINDLAY — The Ohio Northern men's golf team finished 10th of 12 varsity teams at the Ohio Cup, hosted by Findlay and Tiffin on a rainy Saturday at Red Hawk Run Golf Club.

ONU (4-10) finished the 36-hole tournament with a 327-320—647 and were fourth of the five NCAA Division III schools.

Freshman Nolan Kimberly (Zanesville) led the Polar Bears with a 13-over par 79-78—157 on the 7155-yard, par-72 course. he finished tied for 38th out of 87 golfers.

Freshman Andrew Slusher (Covington) tied for 54th with an 85-79—164 and senior Nick Anderson (Mason) and freshman Jared Hernandez (Van Wert) tied for 56th with 165s.

Northwestern Ohio won the team title with a 302-286—586, Findlay was second with a 300-290—590 and Ashland was third with a 307-296—603.

Lewis Scott of UNOH won Medalist honors with an even par 73-71—144.

The Polar Bears will return to action Sept. 22-23 at the Bluffton Fall Invitational.
