Men's Golf rallies for upper division finish at OAC Fall Invitational

TIFFIN — The Ohio Northern men's golf team rebounded from a slow start on Sunday to post a strong showing on Monday at the Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational at the Mohawk Country Club.
The Polar Bears (16-10-1 overall) carded a 307-296—603 to finish fourth out of eight teams in the 36-hole tournament.
Junior Zach Goodchild led ONU with a 2-over par 75-71—146, finishing third out of 62 golfers on the par-72, 6705-yard course.
Senior Tyler Davis finished tied for 11th with a 76-74—150 and senior Blaine Ricketts tied for 20th with a 76-76—152.
ONU was in seventh place after Sunday's first round, but its 296 was the second-lowest in the field on Monday.
Otterbein won the team title with a 293-297—590, John Carroll was second at 300-292—592 and Heidelberg was third with a 301-297—598.
The Polar Bears will return to action Sunday at the Defiance Fall Invitational.
