Men's Golf stands fifth after Day 2 of OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE — The Ohio Northern men's golf team is in fifth place after the third round of the 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships at River Greens Golf Course Friday and Saturday.

The Polar Bears (40-16 overall) have a 306-308-317—931 after 54 of the 72 holes at the 3-day championships.

The teams will play the final 18 holes on Sunday.

Freshman Zach Goodchild is tied for 14th out of 40 golfers with a 15-over par 74-75-82—231.

Senior Ryan Wirtz is tied for 21st with a 79-75-80—234 and junior Rick Deichert and freshman Blaine Ricketts are tied for 27th with 239s.

Otterbein leads the team standings with an 893, Capital is second with a 903, Mount Union is third with a 907 and John Carroll is fourth with a 928.

The top 10 finishers and ties will earn All-OAC honors and the team champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA III Championships May 12-15 at Greensboro, N.C.
