Men's Golf finishes fourth of seven at Capital Fall Classic

GALENA — The Ohio Northern men's golf team finished fourth out of seven teams with a 307-319—626 Friday at the Capital Fall Classic at Royal American Golf Links.
The Polar Bears (6-12 overall) were led by sophomore Brandon Lambert, who was named to the All-Tournament Team with a third place finish out of 46 golfers, carding a 72-79—151 on the par-72, 6859-yard course.
Sophomore Rick Deichert and junior Andrew Quintrell tied for 17th with 158s, freshman Tyler Davis tied for 20th with a 78-81—159 and sophomore Ted Loewendick tied for 29th with an 80-84—164.
Madonna (Mich.) won the team title with a 304-298—602, Baldwin Wallace was second with a 316-301—617 and Mount Vernon Nazarene was third with a 311-308—619.
Benjamin Gawronski of Madonna won Medalist honors with a 74-74—148.
Northern will return to action right away and play at the 36-hole Kenyon Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday's round will get underway at 11 am at the Apple Valey Golf Club in Howard and Sunday's round will start at 8:30 am at th Mount Vernon Country Club in Mount Vernon.
