Men's Basketball flexes its defensive muscles in 64-50 over No. 4 Mount Union

ADA— The Ohio Northern men's basketball team defeated No. 4-ranked Mount Union in physcial defensive battle 64-50 on Saturday afternoon.
- Records: Ohio Northern (11-7 Overall, 6-3 OAC), Mount Union (16-2 Overall, 7-2 OAC).
- Venue: ONU Sports Center — Ada, Ohio.
The Game
- Sophomore Aiden Harris (Pandora) led the team with 18 points and also grabbed a team high 8 boards.
- Senior Will Miller (Ottoville) pitched in 16 points.
- Sophomore Conye Gaston (Toledo/Christian) added 10 off the bench marking his third straight game in double figures.
- Elijah Farrington led the Purple Raiders with 18 points.
- Ohio Northern led in the contest for 36:52, and trailed for less than a minute.
- The Polar Bears came out the gates firing in the 2nd half for a third straight game,riding a 7-0 run to go up 33-19 just 2:02 into the second half.
- The Purple Raiders hung around but could only manage to bring the game to 42-53 with 13:28 left in the game. Ohio Northern never let it get any closer.
- Ohio Northern extinguished the comeback with an 8-0 run, extending the lead to 49-34 at the 10:01 mark in the second half.
- ONU led 26-19 at the half.
- Ohio Northern was 21-of-56 from the floor for 37.5 percent and made 5-of-16 three-pointers for 31.3 percent, while Mount Union finished 17-of-65 from the field for 26.2 percent and 2-of-21 from three-point range for 9.5 percent.
- ONU made 14-of-23 free throws for 60.9 percent and MU was 17-of-19 from the foul line for 89.5 percent.
- The Polar Bears out rebounded the Purple Raiders 49-38.
