Strong defensive performance lifts Men's Basketball to 78-62 victory over Amherst (Mass.) in D3hoops.com Classic behind 20 points from Aiden Harris

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team kicked off its D3hoops.com Classic with a victory over Amherst (Mass.) 76-62 behind 20 points from Aidan Harris on Sunday evening.
- Records: Ohio Northern (6-5 Overall), Amherst (7-3 Overall).

The Game
- Freshman Aiden Harris (Pandora Gilboa) led the Polar Bears with 20 points
- Junior Noah Langford (Perrysburg/Toledo Central Catholic) added 13 points.
- Senior Will Miller (Ottoville) had 11 points.
- Senior Mason Studer (Colonel Crawford/Gallion) added 10 points.
- K.J Neville led the Mammoths with 15 points.
- Trailing 53-48 with 11:52 left, the Polar Bears would finish with a 30-9 run, holding the Mammoths to 0-for-14 shooting the rest of the way.
- ONU flexed its defense, not allowing a made field goal from Amherst from the last 12:26 in the game.
- A 13-0 run gave Northern a 61-53 lead with 6:29 left in the contest.
- Amherst led 39-38 at the half.
- Ohio Northern was 25-of-55 from the floor for 40.0 percent and made 10-of-24 three-pointers for 41.7 percent, while Amherst finished 18-of-53 from the field for 20.8 percent and 9-of-26 from three-point range for 23.1
- ONU made 24-of-28 free throws for 85.7 percent and AC was 17-of-25 from the foul line for 68.0 percent.
- The Mammoths out-rebounded the Polar Bears 37-36.
