ALLIANCE — Ohio Northern Men's Basketball comes up just short against #9 Mount Union 73-71 on Saturday afternoon.
- Records: Ohio Northern (5-5 Overall, 1-2 OAC), #9 Mount Union (11-0 Overall, 4-0 OAC).

The Game
- Senior Will Miller (Ottoville), junior Theo Maag (Ottawa/Ottawa-Glandorf) and sophomore Aiden Harris (Pandora/Pandora-Gilboa) all led the team in scoring with 12 points each.
- Miller added a team high 7 assists.
- Senior Mason Studer added in 10 points and brought in a team high 7 rebounds.
- Junior Noah Langford (Perrysburg/Toledo Central Catholic) added 6 points, 6 boards, and 4 steals.
- Chance Casenhiser led the Purple Raiders with 19 points.
- Casenhiser drained two free throws to make it a 73-68 game with only :03 left, and Miller knocked down a deep three to cut the lead to 73-71 as time expired.
- Trailing 69-60 with :46 to go, a made three by Studer and a MU turnover leading to another three by sophomore Austin Shultz (Perrysburg) saw Northern cut the led to 69-66 with 21 seconds left.
- Mount Union led 33-31 at the half.
- Northern opened the second half on a 14-3 run to grab a 45-36 lead just four minutes into the period.
- The Purple Raiders answered with a 13-0 run to regain the lead at 49-45 with 10:30 left in the contest.
- Ohio Northern was 26-of-61 from the floor for 42.6 percent and made 8-of-26 three-pointers for 30.8 percent, while Mount Union finished 21-of-43 from the field for 48.8 percent and 7-of-19 from three-point range for 36.8
- ONU made 11-of-15 free throws for 73.3 percent and MU was 24-of-32 from the foul line for 75.0 percent.
- The Purple Raiders out-rebounded the Polar Bears 31-30.
