Men's Basketball drops a close battle at Albion (Mich.) 72-71 on late basket in hard fought battle

ALBION (Mich.) — Albion (Mich.) scored with 8.1 seconds left to grab a 72-71 victory over the Ohio Northern men's basketball team in a hard fought battle on Tuesday evening.

- Senior Will Miller (Ottoville) led the Polar Bears with 16 points and 6 boards.
- Sophomore Aiden Harris (Pandora Gilboa) added 12 points with 6 boards
- Senior Mason Studer (Galion/Colonel Crawford) pitched in 12 points of his own thanks to netting 4-of-5 three-point attempts.
- Kameron Mayes led the Britons with 21 points.
- Ohio Northern got a good look to win the game but were unable to convert.
- Miller scored a layup on a back door cut with 37 seconds left to put the Polar Bears in the lead 71-70.
- Mayes scored a tough basket with 8.1 seconds left to take the final lead for Albion at 72-71.
- Studer knocked down his fourth three-pointer of the game to give Northern a 69-67 lead with 1:53 to go but the Brits answered with a three of their own.
- Harris tied the game at 64-64 with 2:43 left in the contest
- The Polar Bears closed out the half on a 9-2 run to take a lead 40-39 at intermission.
- Ohio Northern was 22-of-55 from the floor for 40.0 percent and made 8-19 three-pointers for 42.1 percent, while Albion finished 21-of-41 from the field for 51.2 percent and 7-of-14 from three-point range for 50.0 percent.
