Saturday's Contest: Saturday's game is the penultimate game of the season and the fourth and final home contest of the year for Ohio Northern. It is Senior Day at ONU and the Polar Bears will honor their 20 seniors in a pregame ceremony.
ONU Head Coach Dean Paul: Paul in his 13th season at ONU with an 88-44 record. He is 128-56 in 17 seasons overall and is 12-0 against WC.
WC head coach Stacey Hairston: Hairston is in his fourth season at WC with a 1-37 record. He is 5-43 in five seasons overall and is 0-3 against Ohio Northern. Hairston went 4-6 as ONU's interim head coach in 2003.
Last Year's Meeting: RB Justin Magazine became the 10th player in Ohio Northern history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season as ONU posted a 55-21 victory at Wilmington. With the victory, ONU clinched its 19th upper division finish in the 10-team OAC in the last 20 seasons. Magazine rushed 19 times for 137 yards and four touchdowns and caught two passes for 45 yards and a TD to finish the day with 192 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns. He entered the game with 980 yards and now has 1,117 on the season. Magazine is the first player since Brent Donley's 1,515-yard season in 2010 to reach the 1,000-yard plateau. QB Ricardo Johnson completed 15-of-24 passes for a career-high 301 yards and 3 TDs and ran 8 times for 64 yards and another score and WR Devon Price caught six passes for 128 yards and a score to lead the ONU offense. Northern out-gained Wilmington 524-365 yards of total offense.
ONU Last Week: Ohio Northern scored on its first four second half possessions to snap a 21-all tie and post a 45-29 victory at Marietta. Sophomore QB Will Freed, freshman RB Christiaan Williams and junior LB Zach Schmerge all had big days to lead ONU. Offensively, Freed completed 19-of-26 passes for 282 yards and 3 TDs and ran 5 times for 39 yards and a fourth score and Williams ran 23 times for 162 yards and 2 TDs and caught two passes for 67 yards and a third score for Ohio Northern. Schmerge led the Polar Bear defense with a game-high 15 tackles, one sack and two forced fumbles. Northern held a 282-219 advantage in passing, while Marietta out-gained ONU 287-219 rushing and 506-501 overall.
ONU Leaders: The ONU running game is led by freshman RB Christiaan Williams (155 att, 935 yards, 8 TDs) and freshman RB David Haseleu (34 att, 166 yards, 2 TDs). Sophomore QB Will Freed has completed 160-of-276 passes for 1,923 yards and 16 TDs. Senior WR Reed Allen (35 rec, 490 yards, 4 TDs), sophomore WR Chad Rex (28 rec., 238 yards, 3 TDs) and freshman RB Christiaan Williams (27 rec., 297 yards, 1 TD) lead the ONU receivers. Junior LB Zach Schmerge, senior S Dan Eller, and junior S Jason Lucas lead the defense with 79, 74 and 57 tackles, respectively. Senior DL Scott Rapps leads the team with 6.0 sacks and 12.5 Tackles For Loss.
WC Last Week: QB Luke Creditt accounted for 90 percent of Wilmington's offense in a 59-3 loss to Heidelberg on Saturday. Creditt was 14-of-25 for 111 yards and 56 yards rushing on 13 carries. Ten different players recorded a catch as junior Tim Murphy led the team with four catches for 40 yards. WR Marcus Tyler added three receptions for 28 yards, his first three career catches. K Grant Brown recorded WC's lone points, a 37-yard field goal in the second quarter.
WC Leaders: The WC running game is led this season by RB Chase Monica (59 att., 200 yards, 4 TDs) and QB Luke Creditt (79 att, 186 yards, 3 TDs). QB Luke Creditt is 147-of-241 passing for 1,395 yards and 4 TDs. WR P.J. Meyer (36 rec., 563 yards, 2 TDs) and WR Tim Murphy (23 rec., 162 yards) lead the WC receivers. LB C.J. Thompson, LB Bryan Gonzalez and DB Sam Thompson lead the WC defense with 67, 48 and 45 tackles, respectively. DE Terrance Narcisse-Murphy leads WC with 2.5 sacks.
