Pitching, defense prevail as Baseball takes down Ohio Wesleyan 2-1

ADA — Ohio Northern rode lockdown pitching and defense to win non-conference battle 2-1 over Ohio Wesleyan on Monday afternoon.

- Freshman Keegan Campbell (West Chester/Lakota West) started for the Polar Bears and provided 7.0 innings of work and only allowed a single earned run to pick up his first collegiate win.
- Freshman Ben Chinchar (North Ridgeville) picked up his second save when he came on in the ninth to close the door on Ohio Wesleyan.
- Sophomore Charlie Oakleaf (New Albany) hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh to put Ohio Northern up 2-1, and end up being the winning score.
- The Battling Bishops managed to draw first blood in the top of the third to go up 1-0.
- Ohio Northern tied the game after senior Chase Armstrong (Lousiville, Ky./Trinity) hit an RBI single that drove in freshman Carson Stevens (Wyoming).
