Four Polar Bears selected to College Sports Communicators All-Academic District team for Women's Tennis

ADA — Ohio Northern seniors Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) and Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn), as well as sophomores Lauren Okrainec (Ingersoll, ON, Canada/Ingersoll Collegiate) and Leah Schleibaum (West Chester/Lakota West) were named Academic All-District in women's tennis for 2025-26 by College Sports Communicators.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, each student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 GPA, be a sophomore or higher in athletic eligibility, and have played in at least 50 percent of her team's games during the season.
Bell and Hurst are now three-time honorees.
Bell had an overall record of 14-15, going 20-10 in doubles, along with a 10-10 singles record.
She has a 116-69 career record, 64-32 in singles and 59-43 in doubles.
Hurst had an overall record of 20-10 this season, going 15-6 in singles and 14-12 in doubles.
She is 111-55 in her career, joining ONU's 100-Win Club this season.
Okrainec and Schleibaum have each received their first career selections.
Okrainec was 14-10 overall this season, going 12-8 in singles and 18-6 in doubles.
Schleibaum was 21-3 overall this season, with records of 16-1 in singles and 6-4 in doubles.
The Academic All-District Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Under fourth-year head coach Sean Swisher, the Polar Bears finished the 2025-26 season 18-5 overall and won the conference's Regular Season title with a 4-0 record.
Northern won its third consecutive OAC Tournament championship to claim an NCAA DIII Tournament berth.
