Munteanu, Sran lead Men's Tennis to 6-3 victory at Wittenberg

LIMA — Sophomores Tristan Munteanu (Draper, Utah/Corner Canyon) and Sam Sran (Punjab, India/St. Stephens and Gian Jyoti Global) each won twice to lead the Ohio Northern men's tennis team to a 6-3 victory at Wittenberg on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the Albright Tennis Complex.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-6 overall and and their non-conference slate with a 6-6 record, while the Tigers fall to 3-7.
Munteanu won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 1 singles and combined with junior Kavya Desai (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) to win 8-4 at No. 3 doubles and Sran won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles and joined freshman T.J. Schultz (Grand Blanc, Mich.) to win 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.
Leading 2-1 entering singles play, ONU won four of the six singles courts to come away with the victory.
Sophomore Drew Swisher (Findlay) won 6-2, 7-5 at No. 5 singles and freshman Nico Rogel (Alicante, Spain/Hoosac) won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 6.
The Polar Bears return to action on Wednesday at 3:30 pm with an Ohio Athletic Conference match at Baldwin Wallace.
