Senior C.J. Napier named OAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior C.J. Napier (Miamisburg/Bishop Fenwick) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, sponsored by Midstream Lighting, for the week of Jan. 9-15.
This marks Napier's first career OAC Player of the Week accolade.
The recognition comes after he shot 77.3% from the floor and led the Polar Bears in scoring in a 70-63 loss at Baldwin Wallace and a 61-50 win over Muskingum.
He tallied 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting with five rebounds against Baldwin Wallace and added 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting with four rebounds against Muskingum.
Napier recently became the 40th member of ONU's 1,000-Point Club and currently ranks 33rd all-time with 1,086 career points.
Through 15 games, the three-time All-OAC selection is averaging 16.8 points and 6.8 rebounds. He ranks fourth in the OAC in scoring and sixth in the conference in rebounding.
The Polar Bears (7-8 overall, 3-5 OAC) return to the court on Wednesday for an OAC game at Heidelberg at 7 p.m.
