ONU Race Notes: The Ohio Northern women's cross country team enters Saturday's NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Regional meet after competing in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships ... The women's race is slated to begin at 12:15 pm, following the men's race at 11 am ... Live results for the meet can be found at ONUSports.com and on finishtiming.com ... The Polar Bears saw two athletes earn First Team All-OAC honors during the conference championships as senior Emily Richards was the first Polar Bear runner and second runner overall to cross the finish line, finishing in 22:04.4, while junior Ashlie Baumann finished sixth overall in 22:42.9 ... Both Richards and Baumann earned their second First Team All-OAC honor during their careers ... Junior Colleen Grainger finished 29th overall in 24:05.3, sophomore Zoe Schilling finished 31st in 24:13.9, junior Avery Ewing finished 32nd in 24:16.6, junior Kristina Myers finished 33rd in 24:23.2 and freshman Megan Wright finished 37th in 24:31.8 to round out Ohio Northern's top-7 finishers ... The Polar Bears finished 13th of 31 teams at the NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Regional meet in 2016, where Richards led ONU across the finish line in 19th place ... The top-35 individual finishers in the event will earn United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region honors ... In each of the eight regions across the country, the top-2 finishing teams will earn automatic bids to next weekend's NCAA Div. III National Championships, while the next 16 best team times across the country will earn at large bids to the National Championships, completing the 32 qualifying teams ... After the 32-team field is set for the NCAA III Championships, the next best seven times in each region not on a qualifying team will earn individual bids to the NCAA III Championships.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 9th season as head coach with a 754-429 record, a winning percentage of .637 ... Maus is now the winningest women's cross country head coach at Ohio Northern after surpassing former coach Brian Cole at the 2017 Principia (Ill.) Cowbell Classic.
