ADA — The Ohio Northern volleyball team moved up two more spots to No. 17 in the fifth weekly American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, released Tuesday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (16-3 overall, 1-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) received 519 points in the poll, which is 72 more than the 447 they received last week when ranked No. 19.
Northern it tied for 17th in the poll with Saint thomas (Minn.) and MIT.
ONU was ranked No. 22 in the preseason poll, was No. 25 in the first weekly poll and No. 22 in the third and fourth weekly polls the past two weeks.
Ohio Northern went 2-0 last week with a sweep at Denison and a sweep of Mount Union in the OAC opener.
Wittenberg stayed in the top spot in the poll with 1,656 points and 48 first place votes, Colorado College is second with 1,622 points and the remaining 19 first place votes and Trinity (Tex.) is third with 1,458 points.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Wednesday with a 7 pm match at home with Otterbein, who received 23 points in the poll, at the ONU Sports Center.
