Junior Mackenzie Hoffman named OAC Women's Swimmer of the Week
ADA — Ohio Northern junior Mackenzie Hoffman has been named the OAC Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Jan. 9-15.
Hoffman won one individual event and was part of four winning relay teams as Ohio Northern won at Oberlin 147-92 Friday night and clinched at least a share of its sixth consecutive OAC Regular Season title with a 198-93 victory over Mount Union on Saturday afternoon.
ONU is 8-2 overall this season and is 4-0 in OAC dual meet action.
The Polar Bears have won 24 consecutive OAC regular season dual meets, dating to the 2007 season.
This marks the second time in his career that Keriazes has won the honor.
Against Mount Union, Hoffman won the 200 freestyle in 2:01.83 and was a part of ONU's 400 medley and 400 freestyle relays teams that won in 4:11.85 and 3:46.93, respectively.
At Oberlin, Hoffman was part of ONU's winning 200 medlay relay (1:55.04) and 200 free relay (1:45.40) teams.
The Polar Bears have a big weekend coming up with a road meet at No. 1-ranked Kenyon Friday night and a road meet at Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday with the Golden Kickboard trophy and the outright OAC Regular Season title on the line.
