ADA — Junior Maddie Storr (Clarence, N.Y.) tied a school record with 10 points on six goals and four assists to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team to an 18-4 victory over Marietta on Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears (7-6 overall, 3-2 Ohio Athletic Conference) also got five goals and an assist from sophomore Sydney Skelding (North Plainfield, N.J./Dublin) and four goals from junior Betsy Naugle (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) in the victory.
The Pioneers (2-12, 0-6) were led by Rachel Sivie with two goals.
Junior Kelli Hill (Worthington) was magnificent in goal, stopping 14 of the 18 shots on goal she faced, a save percentage of .778.
Naugle's four goals gives her 103 career points and she now joins Storr (111 points) as a member of ONU's 100-Point Club.
Storr also held ONU with six draw controls, four caused turnovers and four ground balls to complete her dominating performance.
Northern opened the game with five consecutive goals in the first seven minutes of the game.
The Pioneers pulled within 8-3, but Ohio Northern closed the half with three straight goals in the final 6:09 to lead 10-3 at intermission.
ONU put the game away by scoring the final six goals in the final 19:39 of play.
Northern outshot Marietta 42-21 and had 20 ground balls to 14 for MC.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Friday with a 2 pm contest at Capital.
