Women's Golf finishes 10th of 14 teams at Capital Purple & White Invite

The Ohio Northern women's golf team finished 10th of 14 teams at the Capital Purple & White Invite Friday and Saturday at the Foxfire and Westchester golf courses.

Round 1 was played at the Firefox Golf Course in Lockbourne on Friday and Round 2 was at the Westchester Golf Course in Canal Winchester on Saturday.

The Polar Bears (20-36) finished with a 417-392—809 at the 36-hole event.

Bethel (Ind.) won the team title with a 326-311—637, Otterbein was second with a 347-324—671 and Mount Union was third with a 339-338—677.

Senior Emily Gedert led Ohio Northern with a 90-79—169 and finished tied for 11th out of 84 golfers.

Freshman Megan Conley tied for 37th with a 91-95—186, freshman Allison Fye tied for 53rd with a 108-95—203, senior Kim McGowan was 77th with a 136-123—259 and freshman Kaitlyn Nestel was 79th with a 128-136—264 for Ohio Northern.

Mount Union's Mary Snode won Medalist honors with a 2-over par 72-74—146.

The Polar Bears will return to action Ohio Wesleyan Invitational April 14-15.
