No. 23 Women's Basketball picked to finish first in 2016-17 OAC Preseason coaches poll

ADA — The No. 23-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team was picked to win the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title in the OAC Preseason Poll, voted on by the leagues 10 coaches.

The Polar Bears recieved 79 points and seven first place votes.

Baldwin Wallace was picked to finish second with 74 points and three first place votes, while Wilmington was picked to round out the top three with 57 points.

Northern is looking for its third consecutive OAC Regular Season title after finishing 23-5 overall and 17-1 in the OAC a season ago and advancing to the second round of the NCAA III Tournament.

 ONU opens its season on Nov. 15 at Case Western Reserve as it tips off the 2016-27 campaign at 5:30 pm.
