This Weekend's Preview: The No. 34-ranked Ohio Northern men's track and field program concludes its pre-Ohio Athletic Conference Championship slate this Saturday at the Flag City Open, hosted by Findlay ... Field events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., and running events will begin at 12 p.m. inside the Malcolm Athletic Center ... This meet will not be scored ... Meanwhile, sophomore thrower Matt Bradshaw will be competing individually at the Ohio State Tune-Up on Friday evening in the weight throw ... The Polar Bears enter this weekend's competition sporting a 16-7 overall record in 2019 ... Northern was ranked 34th nationally on the fourth weekly USTFCCCA power rankings released on Tuesday ... Last weekend, ONU posted 44.5 points and finished seventh in an 18-team field at the All-Ohio Championships in Westerville ... Freshmen pole vault specialists Andrew Buderer and Luke Shellhaas paced the Ohio Northern efforts, clearing 4.36 meters to finish second and third, respectively ... The Polar Bears also received fourth-place finishes from freshman Nate Dean in the 200, sophomore Owen Lloyd in the high jump, and the 4x400-meter relay squad of Colin McCullough, Sam Krabacher, Jared Fox, and Dean ... Meanwhile, Krabacher ended fifth in the 800-meter run, and Bradshaw placed fifth in the the weight throw to round out the top-five marks ... Senior All-American Ian Mcvey also competed last weekend, shattering ONU's 3,000-meter run mark at the Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet on Friday ... He would post an 8:16.99 and place 10th in a 48-man field with athletes from NCAA Division I, II, and III institutions.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus enters his 10th season leading the Ohio Northern men's and women's track and field programs at Ohio Northern ... He currently owns a 460-121 record during the men's indoor season, a .792 win percentage.
