Saturday's Preview: The No. 24-ranked Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team is set to compete at the Mount Union Raider Tune Up Meet hosted by Mount Union in Alliance on Saturday ... The meet is comprised of nine schools ... Field events and track events are set to begin at 12 p.m. ... Northern made its debut in the fourth weekly USTFCCCA top-25 power rankings, coming in at No. 24 ... Senior Lucas Shumate and sophomore Ian McVey both posted first place finishes to lead the Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team at the All-Ohio Championships ... For the fourth time in four meets, Shumate won the weight throw to lead Northern ... The senior won the event with a toss of 57' 11.75" ... McVey also posted a first place finish as he won the 1-mile run in 4:26.49 ... Senior Kase Schalois and junior Matt Molinaro competed at the Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet last weekend for the Polar Bears ... Molinaro finished fifth overall in the event and first among Div. III schools in 1:51.03 ... His time currently ranks second in the nation in the event and is an indoor personal record ... Schalois finished the 5,000-meter run in a career-fastest time of 14:59.87 ... His time was just over a second away from breaking the ONU school record held by former Polar Bear Nate Rosenbaum ... Shumate, Molinaro and McVey will all also compete at the Buckeye Tune Up meet hosted the Ohio State on Friday.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 8th season at ONU with a 403-96 indoor record, a winning percentage of .808.
