McKee wins 800-meter run to lead Men's Outdoor Track & Field at Marv Frye Invitational

DELEWARE -- Junior Evan McKee won the 800-meter run to lead the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track & field team at the Marv Frye Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday.
The Polar Bears (4-11-1) finished with 42 points, which tied them for ninth place with Denison in the 14-team meet.
Ohio Wesleyan won the meet with 116 points, Case Western Reserve was second with 73 points and Baldwin Wallace was third with 68.
McKee finished in 1:57.39, which was just .40 second faster than the second place finisher.
Junior Francisque Pierre-Jerome finished the 100-meter dash in 10.90 seconds, which placed him second.
Freshman Devon Jones finished fourth in the long jump, with a leap of 6.46 meters (21-2.50).
Junior Kyle Weslosky notched a fourth place finish in the javelin, with a throw of 47.08 meters (154-05), while sophomore Adam Tracy recorded a throw of 45.46 meters (149-02), which was good for an eighth place finish.
Sophomore Phil Farwig was fifth in the shot put, registering a throw of 13.58 meters (44-6.75).
Freshman Brandon Ike came in sixth in the pole vault, clearing 4.13 meters (13-6.50).
The 4x400-meter relay team of freshman Christian Rupe, sophomores Jonathan Roseler and James Rader and Pierre Jerome finished in sixth place in 3:26.17.
Ohio Northern will return to competition on Saturday when it heads back to Ohio Wesleyan for the All-Ohio Championships.
