ADA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team will end its season with a 19-9 record after being left out of the NCAA III Tournament.

The Polar Bears were third in the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season standings with a 12-6 record and reached the finals of the OAC Tournament in 2017-18 under second-year head coach Rich Bensman.

In all, 43 teams earned automatic bids and 21 schools received at-large bids to the 64-team field.

ONU was considered a long-shot to reach the tournament with its nine losses despite being seeded fifth in the Great Lakes Region.
